New Stallholder profile and new to our Ipswich Market Saturday 16th August
Aussie Outdoor Strapz

Name: Dave and Heidi Booth

Business name: Aussie Outdoor Strapz

The suburb/town you live in now:  Camira QLD

What is it that you make and what skills do you use?
We make wrist sprapz and key fobs – functional fashion.  Strapz are made from paracord.

What inspired you to start your business?
A desire to share the ‘functional fashion’ idea with others.

How long have you been ‘creating’?
We are a relatively new business and have only been making ‘strapz’ for about 3 months.

Is it a full time/ part time/hobby or business?
Part time business.

Where do you sell your creations?
We sell at The Handmade Expo, Grand Markets, Brisbane Marketplace (Rocklea Markets), online from our Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/aussieoutdoorstrapz?ref=hl) and from our home.

What makes what you do special or different?
We make strapz for different occasions and functions.  Football supporters, camo, glow in the dark, reflective (safety) and we have a special Breast Cancer range to raise money for Breast Cancer research.  We also have a ‘Do it yourself’ kit which is great for kids.

What is the most rewarding part of what you do?
Meeting new people and seeing the joy on their faces when they just love what they see.  Watching kids see the strapz actually glow in the dark is awesome!

What is your favourite product that you make?
Dave: The sprapz that have a personal meaning.  When a customer identifies a strap that allows them to proudly support their team or cause.
Heidi: The ‘Do It Yourself Kit’.  I love it when customers come back to proudly show us their finished product.

Do you teach classes or workshops?
Yes!  We teach groups of up to 10 to make their own strap for a fee of $15 per person.  The workshop lasts for 1 hour and can be done at their own home or in ours.
